ગઢડા પ્રથમ-૬૮: અષ્ટ પ્રકારની પ્રતિમામાં અને સંતમાં અખંડ રહ્યાનું

પ્રસંગ

યોગીજી મહારાજ કહે, “સારંગપુરમાં હરિકૃષ્ણદાસ કોઠારી હતા. શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજને કહે, ‘સારંગપુરમાં ખાંડ મળતી નથી. અન્નકૂટ બંધ રાખો.’ શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજને ઠાકોરજી ઉપર એવો ભાવ-પ્રેમ. તેઓ કહે, ‘રૂપિયાની શેર ખાંડ લાવો ને અન્નકૂટ કરો.’ આ મેં કાનોકાન સાંભળેલું. થાળમાં ઓછું ન કરવું. સારું ઘી વાપરવું. સંતો! મૂર્તિ પટની ન માનવી. શ્રીજીમહારાજ પંડે જ છે. પૂજા-પાઠ, થાળ-આરતી કરવાં. ‘શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજ સ્વામી બેઠા છે’ એમ સાક્ષાત્ માની થાળ, હાર, પૂજા કરીએ તો ફળ મળે. આસ્તિક ભાવ રાખવો. મૂર્તિ પાસે દંડવત્ કરે પણ અંદર નાસ્તિક ભાવ, તો મહારાજે હડતાળ પાડી કે કલ્યાણ નહીં થાય.”

Yogiji Mahārāj said, “Harikrishnadās was a kothāri in Sārangpur. He said to Shāstriji Mahārāj, ‘There’s no sugar available in Sārangpur so let us not do annakut.’ However, Shāstriji Mahārāj had great affection for Thākorji and replied back, ‘Buy half kilo of sugar with 1 rupee, but do annakut.’”

Yogiji Mahārāj continued, “I heard this with my own ears. Do not put less in thāl (to save money). Always use the best ghee. Santo, do not believe the murtis are mere paintings on canvas. The murtis are Shriji Mahārāj himself. We should do pujā and ārti. Do pujā, ārti and thāl with the feeling that Shāstriji Mahārāj is manifest and sitting with us to gain the fruit of those activities. And you will feel that Bhagwān does exist (āstik-bhāv will develop). However, if one offers prostrations with a hidden nāstik-bhāv (feeling that Bhagwān does not exist), then Mahārāj will protest: you will not be liberated.”

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૩૦/૫/૧૯૬૫, બોચાસણ. પૂજા વિધિ બાદ યોગીજી મહારાજે હર્ષદભાઈ પાસે વચનામૃત ગઢડા પ્રથમ ૬૮ કઢાવ્યું અને કહ્યું, “સાક્ષાત્ ભગવાન સંતમાં નિવાસ કરીને રહે છે. આમાં પ્રશ્ન નથી. મહારાજ પોતે વાત કરે છે કે સંતને બીજા માણસ જેવા માને ને મૂર્તિને ચિત્રામણ જાણે તે પાખંડ ભક્તિ... જેવો ભાવ સંતમાં છે, તેવો મૂર્તિમાં કેમ આવતો નથી? મહારાજે આજ્ઞા કરી એટલે એવો ભાવ લાવવો. ધણીએ કહ્યું કે ‘સાંબેલું પૂજો!’ તો એમ કરવાનું. તો ભગવાનનો ભાવ લાવવો પડે! સરકારે કબૂલાત કરી તો આપણે કેવું માનીએ! તેમ શ્રીજીમહારાજે કબૂલાત કરી તે આપણે માનવું જ.”

May 30, 1965, Bochāsan. After pujā, Yogiji Mahārāj instructed Harshadbhāi [Dave] to read Vachanāmrut Gadhadā I-68 and said, “God resides in the Sant - there is no question in that. Shriji Mahārāj has himself said that the devotion of one who considers a murti to be merely a painting and the Sant to be an ordinary human being is like that of a hypocrite... Why can we not develop the same feelings we have towards the Sant for the murti? Mahārāj has instructed us [that God resides in the murti], so we must develop these feelings. If the owner tells us to worship a pestle, then we should do it (i.e. Even if something goes against our logic, since it is God’s command, we should abide by it.) We should develop the feeling [that God is present in the murti]. When the government makes a declaration, we all accept it instantly. Similarly, this is Shriji Mahārāj’s declaration, so we should accept it.”
